Auditions & Evaluations

Auditions & Evaluations is a two-part program that emphasizes feedback and improvement. On Day 1, Jan. 15, participants perform for a small panel of advisors who provide feedback on the performance. Six weeks later, on Day 2, Feb. 26, participants perform again for the same panel of advisors.

Players of any level or age may participate in A&E as long as they are current members of the Philly Harp Socety. Music of any genre is encouraged including but not limited to classical, folk, jazz, and sacred. Participants should keep in mind this event is intended to be a learning experience; it is a good opportunity to set a goal, practice performing, hear others play, receive feedback from a professional other than your usual teacher, and then return to perform the same music again after feedback.

Participants should prepare two pieces of contrasting style, not to exceed 15 minutes total.

Note: January 15th is the first day of this event. Participants return on February 26th to perform again for the panel of advisors to show the progress they have made. Time is still TBD and individual performance times will be shared with participants. A Zoom link will be sent out closer to the date. Additional details will be shared closer to the event date.
